How Tidings builds your maintenance plan

Where your tasks come from — and why new ones can appear on their own.

Updated July 6, 2026

Your plan is layered from three sources.

  1. Your home itself. Your location sets a climate profile, and Tidings schedules the right whole-home tasks season by season — clearing gutters before freeze-up, prepping the AC before summer.
  2. Your appliances. Register a unit and Tidings attaches its manufacturer-recommended service schedule. If a model isn't in the manufacturer's published guidance, you get our standard schedule for that appliance type, built from industry best practice.
  3. You. Anything you add yourself — one-off or repeating.
Good to know: This is why tasks can appear "on their own": adding an appliance, correcting its type, or a season turning over generates new tasks automatically.

You stay in control of the volume — see Adjust how often tasks come due to space things out, and Remove or hide a task for anything you don't want to see.

Still stuck? Open Tidings and use the Report a problem button in the corner of any page — it comes straight to us.
