Correct an appliance's type
Filed your water heater as tankless but it's a tank? Fix the type and Tidings swaps the tasks to match.

An appliance's type drives which maintenance it gets, so a wrong type means wrong tasks. Correcting it is safe — Tidings shows you exactly what will change before anything happens.
- Open the appliance and click the pencil (Edit appliance) button.
- Choose the correct Type.
- Read the preview that appears — it says which tasks will be added and removed, or that nothing will change because your model's manufacturer schedule already covers it.
- Save. A summary banner confirms what was updated.
Good to know: Your completed history and any tasks you created yourself are always kept. Only the generated to-dos swap to match the new type.
