Put Tidings on your phone, with notifications

Add Tidings to your home screen on iPhone or Android, then turn on push reminders for your maintenance schedule.

Updated September 8, 2026

Tidings runs as an app from your phone's home screen. There is nothing to download from an app store: you add the site itself, and it opens full screen with its own icon.

  1. iPhone or iPad: open tasks.house in Safari, tap the Share button, then choose Add to Home Screen.
Chrome, Edge and Firefox on iOS 16.4 or later offer the same option from their menu.
  2. Android: open tasks.house in Chrome, tap the menu, then choose Install app or Add to Home screen.
Chrome may also offer to install on its own the first time you visit.
  3. Open Tidings from the new icon and sign in.

Notifications arrive on the same schedule as your email digest, weekly or monthly, set under Settings, Household. Each one says how many tasks are due and how many are overdue. It never names a task, so nothing about your home shows on a lock screen.

  1. Open Tidings from your home screen, then go to Settings, Preferences.
  2. Under Push notifications, tap Turn on notifications and allow the prompt.
  3. Tap Send a test to see one arrive.
Careful: On iPhone and iPad, notifications only work when Tidings has been added to the home screen and opened from there. In a Safari tab, the button is replaced by a reminder to install first.
Good to know: Turning notifications off in Settings stops them on that device only. Signing out does not stop them, so turn them off first if you are handing the device to someone else.
Still stuck? Open Tidings and use the Report a problem button in the corner of any page. It comes straight to us.
